I’d like to share with you my first holiday experience booked with Pets Pyjamas. After browsing on the website www.petspyjamas.com and searching for a cottage in Cornwall to rent that would accommodate all the family to get together, we booked a lovely looking 4-bedroom cottage close to the beach front of Mawgan Porth in Cornwall at ‘Blue Seas Cottage’. Just 3 miles from Watergate Bay and 6 miles from Newquay…this perfect Cornish gem with glorious sea views from nearly every room was an ideal location to base ourselves. With just a walk from the garden gate to the award-winning, year-round dog-friendly sandy beach at Mawgan Porth, I could already picture the dogs going bonkers on the beach with a splash in the sea!
A week prior to escaping to the seaside, Pets Pyjamas sent us a list of nearby dog friendly activities available, as well as a nice free surprise through the post for the dogs consisting of a personalised pet travel kit! With the positive atmosphere and excitement flowing through the house, the dogs could see suitcases packed but knew something was different about this holiday…something ‘pawfectional’ … they were coming too!
Upon arriving at Blue Seas Cottage, it was like a seaside dream come true! The cottage itself was huge, with 4 big bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, several lounges, and brilliant facilities; board games, movies, a docking station, power showers, flat screen tv’s and even a piano! The kitchen had a beautiful range cooker and every room was equipped with fresh folded towels, comfortable made up beds, toiletries and all the necessities you would need. The garden was huge, with a pond, its own little stream that ran into the sea, a garage full of boats, body boards and wet suits, and even a hot water shower for the dogs to hose down under. Honestly, I just wanted to live here with Rosie forever! As it happens, we all ended up saying the same thing on arrival!
The beach was absolutely huge, it went so far out before reaching the water, and being so flat was perfect for the dogs to play fetch the ball. The weather was sunny, so under blue skies off a white sandy beach I went for a swim in the sea (wearing just in my swimsuit, no wetsuit needed). Jumping over the big waves, I couldn’t stop smiling, loving every minute of nature at its upmost best.
Only a few miles from the cottage is the lovely harbour town ‘Padstow’ where Rick Stein as a cookery school, fish and chip restaurant, café and bakery…….
